A Pinch of Salt

Curated by Naim Asbaa | Amazigh Contemporary Gallery. Chicago | 2020

The dining room table is at the heart of many homes. It is a ground for nurturing and communality. We gather around it, only slightly aware of the objects that we use in these shared moments. The exhibition A Pinch of Salt,  engages with the relationship between objects and bodies in the domestic context, suggesting new relationships with the objects that surround us daily, and the social interactions embedded within their use. What happens when a mundane instrument is not merely a passive object, but an active participant? In a subtle, yet whimsical approach, the show whishes to serve what is pushed under the table as a main course.
